In response to the notice published in the press, I submit the following facts.

In February 1943, Gestapo men stormed into the flat at Marszałkowska Street 74, looking for a woman of Jewish descent who was hiding in that flat. They didn’t find her. Instead, they took Tadeusz Tomaszewski, engineer and doctor of agriculture, inventor of the agricultural schedule, member of a clandestine organization for agricultural sabotage and battalion commander in the Old Town. They took also his sister, Jadwiga Tomaszewska, also a member of underground organizations.

Tadeusz Tomaszewski was executed in Pawiak prison on 18 May 1943. Jadwiga Tomaszewska died in Auschwitz during an epidemic of typhoid fever.
