DANUTA FALIŃSKA

Volunteer Danuta Falińska, born on 28 January 1924 in Podwołoczyska, the Tarnopol voivodeship.

On 13 April 1940, due to my mother having been arrested and my father interned, my brothers and I were deported to Pavlodar in northern Kazakhstan.

My brothers and I worked as forced laborers right until the amnesty. We worked from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. with a one-hour break for dinner. In September 1941, my brothers joined the army, while I remained in the kolkhoz. On 24 April 1942, my brother took me to Uzbekistan. On 1 July, I joined the Women’s Auxiliary Service in Guzar. On 17 August, I went to Pahlevi where I worked in the Registration Office. I completed a six-week course in administration. Now I work at the administrative department of Military Hospital No 3.
