Böttcher was an SS- und Polizeiführer for the entire Radom district. He issued all orders

concerning death sentences and displacements. His infamous deeds include the liquidation of the ghetto in Radom, in which 25,000 people were executed. His minor deeds include ordering the execution of 7 people at Szwarlikowska Street on 17 January 1943, and on 7 July 1943 again of 7 people at the same spot.

One day in August or September 1943, there was a short circuit and a fire in the workshops of the ghetto. Böttcher decided that Zucker and Schwarcbard, who worked as the foremen, were responsible. They were led to Szwarlikowska Street and executed there. In February 1943, on Böttcher’s order, gallows were erected in five different districts of the town, and 55 Poles were hanged. It was a threat, a way of discouraging those who wanted to join the resistance. The execution sites were located near the arms factory, the prison, in Kaptur and at Konstytucji 3 Maja Square. On the following day, Böttcher issued a decree in which he threatened the populace with stringent repression should the underground continue to resist. The best and most worthy people from Radom were hanged then.

I declare, in lieu of an oath, that the above is true to facts. I am aware of the criminal liability for making false declarations. I am ready to appear before a court as a witness.
