In the case of Alice Orlowski, Aufseherin [overseer] in the Płaszów camp:

I met Aufseherin Alice Orlowski in the Płaszów camp in 1944. I witnessed her bestially torture the prisoners several times.

Once, I saw Orlowski beat some Gypsy woman unconscious. That woman was pregnant and Orlowski was aware of it. First, she hit that inmate with her fist about the head, and then she knocked her to the ground and kicked her.

A few days later, Orlowski beat some Polish woman. She hit her with her fists about the face and head repeatedly until the woman fell to the ground. I often saw Orlowski beat imprisoned Jewesses for the slightest offence. For instance, Adela Sterngast was severely beaten by Orlowski for having been two minutes late to the roll call.

There were so many such incidents that I don’t even know the names of all prisoners who received a beating. I remember that Orlowski once kicked Jewish prisoners who came to the camp from the “Kabel” factory. She came at these men and began to kick them and hurl abuse at them for no apparent reason.
