Kilian Niśkiewicz
Board Member of the Gliwice department
Vice-chairman of the Verification Commission
Acting Chairman of the Enterprise Commission

To

Voivodeship executive board

of the Polish Association

of the Former Political Prisoners

in Katowice, Daszyńskiego Street 9

In connection with your announcements and photographs displayed in the window of the secretariat, I would like to inform you that I recognized three following people:

1. Hildegard Lächert – referred to as "Brigitte" by SS men,

2. Alice Orlowski – referred to as "the American" by SS men,

3. [Emilie] Macha (from Bytom) – called by everyone "Mutti".

In accordance with the law in force, I would like to testify, especially against Hildegard Lächart, who beat me up twice when I was in the Gärtnerei kommando [gardening squad] in Majdanek.

All three SS women served as Aufseherins [overseers] in the Frauenlager [camp for women] in Majdanek. They would come with female kommandos of Häftlings [prisoners] to the gardens of the Gärtnerei, where I had the opportunity to witness their behavior. As further evidence, I present the list of 40 prisoners from Majdanek – eye-witnesses to the actions of the SS Aufseherins who oversaw the female prisoners in Majdanek.

with kind regards
Kilian Niśkiewicz
