I was in Auschwitz from 24 June 1940 until 19 September 1941 and from 28 February 1943 until October 1944. During this period I met:

1) Hans Aumeier, he was the commandant of the men’s camp [in] Auschwitz. I witnessed Aumeier in block 11 personally carrying out death sentences by shooting prisoners with a revolver. That was in 1943. I saw him beat and kick prisoners at that time in the camp square. He beat them with his hands or with a riding crop.

Ad 10) Arthur Johann Breitweieser, was the Rottenführer in 1940, and was later promoted to SS-Unterscharführer. He was the head of the prisoners’ uniform warehouse. He behaved decently towards the prisoners, I didn’t experience any incident when he hit anyone. He mainly shouted. In 1940 he talked with us in Polish. He shared his bread with the prisoners.

Ad 12) Rudolf Buchholz I know from stories I heard from other prisoners. I know from them that he used to beat and abuse them.

Ad 28) Max Grabner was the head of the Political Department. In 1941 and 1944, I witnessed Grabner beating and shooting prisoners. He issued death sentences on them. He shot prisoners in block 11 while carrying out death sentences.

Ad 30) Karl Hermann Hartmann served as the SS-Rapportführer [report leader] with the rank of Unterscharführer in 1943–1944. I saw him abuse prisoners at the time, beating them with whatever came to hand.

Ad 33) Josef Hiller. Information about him may be provided by Wilhelm Gawliczek, an employee of the Bracka company.

Ad 34) Hans Hoffmann. Information may be provided by Andrzej Wilk, [illegible] 38.

The report was read out.
