What do the mass graves tell us?

We have thousands of mass graves. They are [scattered] in the forests and in various parts of the country. Poles who are buried in these graves fought for the freedom of their homeland. They fought the enemy without respite, risking their own lives and the lives of their families and their children. These graves tell us how we should love our homeland. As a token of remembrance, we – the children of Poland – erect mounds and decorate them with flowers and wreaths. We want to honor the memory of our beloved heroes who are buried in mass graves over which the leaves are rustling and the birds are singing. Hail to their memory!
