My most memorable moment from the occupation

One day during the occupation there was a round-up in Niewachlów. 15 military police cars came to Niewachlów. They stood sentry in the street, in the fields and meadows, and some military policemen were searching houses. People were driven out into the street and herded together. After the search, the men were separated from the rest, put in cars and taken to a square called “the court.” After the trial, some were released home, some were transported to the Auschwitz camp and some to Bliżyn, while others were murdered. It was a terrible moment for all of us. Everybody feared for their loved ones. With great hatred, though helplessly, we watched our enemies wreak death and havoc.
