My most memorable moment from the occupation

After we had been displaced, we lived in the village of Garbatka. Once, a German officer ordered the entire village, including my brother, to provide carts. All the residents took their carts and went as ordered, but my brother and I did not. After a few hours, a German officer came and took us outside, put us under a pine tree and wanted to execute us. Suddenly two people jumped out of the forest and led the German by the collar into the forest. After a while I heard a shot. I went there – the officer was killed.
